Bangladesh government to buy rice directly from farmers

The government will procure rice directly from farmers from the next season and called for suggestion on how to implement the decision effectively, according to the Bangladesh Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak.

Dr. Razzak added that steps to ensure fair price of rice will benefit rice farmers and the rice will be sold to the country’s poor people at a low price.

The government will also give a 20% incentive for rice exports.
