Ranjit Sub-1 could survive up to 15 days of submergence and is also a high-yielding rice variety with a potential yield of up to 7 tons per hectare.  Ranjit Sub-1 is also recommended in the flood-prone areas in Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
