Unknown rice disease reported in Bongaigaon, Assam

Farmers in Bongaigaon District in the Indian State of Assam reported an unknown disease of rice affecting large crop fields.

The disease causes new leaves to turn reddish and eventually the death of rice plants.

The disease appeared after the farmers suffered crop damage from recent flooding.
