USDA’s first climate-smart rice grown in Arkansas

A long-grain rice variety using a cultivation technique that reduces water normal requirement and methane emissions by 50% has been produced by a farm in Arkansas

It is the first consumer product created under the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The program helps farmers and agribusinesses to find ways to invest in more sustainable agricultural practices involving 43 different commodities.
