Bangladesh Seed Board approves two new boro rice varieties

The National Seed Board has approved the release of BRRI dhan-107 and BRRI dhan-108  rice varieties for the boro season.

Developed by the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, BRRI dhan-107 is a premium quality variety that produces an average yield of 8.2 t/ha but can reach  9.6 t/h with appropriate management under favorable environments.  BRRI dhan-108 has an average yield of 8.7 t/ha and has excellent grain characteristics.
