Farmers in Sherpur are profiting from their bumper harvest of Tulsimala, one of the indigenous aromatic rice varieties of Bangladesh.
The traditional variety was planted in 14,540 hectares of land in 2020 compared to 4,650 hectares last year.
More farmers are growing Tulsimala as the domestic and international demand for it has been steadily increasing because of its flavor, fragrance, and high food value.
