The Venezuelan Government will fund a rice research institute in Budalang’i, Busia County, Western Kenya to boost the production and marketing of the crop in the country.
The institute will develop new rice varieties with good grain quality and high resistance to pests and diseases for specific regions in the county.
The proposed project is expected to help Kenyan farmers maximize production through value addition.
