Stove that uses rice husk promoted in Madagascar

Hetsika Fampiraisana Kristiana ho an’ny Firenena, a non-government organization in Madagascar, launched a  project promoting a new type of stove that uses rice husks for fuel.

The stoves are seen as a means to utilize the one million tons of husks produced by its rice sector.annually and reduce the use of charcoal that contributes to deforestation.

The government also supports a project that produces compact straw-based charcoal.
