Indonesia’s rice production in 2022 estimated to reach 32 million metric tons

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) projected the country’s rice production in 2022 will reach 32.07 million metric tons (MT).

This will be 2.29% higher than the 31.36 million MT in 2021.

Java Island’s rice production of 18 million MT comprises more than 50% of the country’s total output.

IRRI and Indonesia pens 5-year partnership to uplift agricultural productivity and farmer livelihood
Dr. Ir. Fadjri Jufry, Director General of the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development, signed a five-year work plan with IRRI to increase the sustainability and productivity of rice-based agrifood systems across the country, especially in regions with high paddy production.
