Nigeria’s rice sector gets a boost from Germany and Gates Foundation

The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have teamed up for implementation of the second phase of the Competitive African Rice Initiative (CARI-2) in Nigeria.

CARI-2 aims to help smallholder farmers produce high-quality rice and increase their income. It will focus on business linkages in the rice sector to ensure that the producers were well connected with the markets, processors, rice millers, aggravators, and input dealers.
