Farmers in Vietnam to alternate rice with other drought-tolerant crops

Under its agricultural restructuring program, the Vietnamese province of Bình Thuận encourages rice farmers in drought-prone areas to rotate rice cultivation with drought-tolerant crops, such as dragon fruit, during the dry season.

The restructuring program also promotes advanced farming techniques to enhance the competitiveness and sustainable development of the province’s agriculture sector by expanding suitable farming models.
