Philippine province to establish a rice straw biogas hub

The provincial government of Laguna in the Philippines and Straw Innovations UK  will launch a project to generate accessible clean energy from rice by-product straw for remote and underserved rural communities.

Rice Straw Biogas Hub is a three-year project that aims to generate biogas from rice straw and provide an innovative technology package for rice farmers.

Such facilities can prevent the burning of 300 million tons of rice straw across Asia each year.
