Hundreds of Kenyan rice farmers affected by flood

More than 600 rice farmers under the Bunyala Irrigation Scheme in Kenya suffered significant losses after floods damaged their crops.

The flooding, caused by the backflow of water from River Nzoia and Lake Victoria,  left around 526 hectares out of the 800 hectares of rice farms under the irrigation scheme underwater.
